Family Portraits in Bushey

It is always more relaxed to have family portraits taken in your own home - particularly with young children who are more comfortable in their own environment. I recently did a lovely family session with Mum, Dad, New Baby, Older sister, Aunties, Uncles, Grandparents, the dog .... everybody. Lots of combinations of pictures featuring everyone. It was quite hard to choose as there were lots that I loved, but here are a few of my favourites from the session.

Congratulations on little Amelie - fabulous addition to the family.

A bit of training with Mark Betts Photography

Popped up to Northampton last week where Mark Betts had kindly offered to help me with some tips on studio lighting and location lighting. He kindly organised a model for the day - the lovely Izabela - and we did some shots in the studio and then outdoors in the (very windy!) nearby woods.

I haven't got any examples of the studio shots, as I took these with Mark's Camera - which for the record was a wierd sort of a camera ... began with a "C" I think .. anyway here are a few from the outdoor shoot which Mark set up with off-camera flash while Izabella braved the wind...

A big thank you to both of you for a really fun day.

New Baby Portraits Welwyn Hertfordshire

Just done a new baby portrait session for wonderful little Ava. She was 10 days old and absolutely lovely. The best time to have new baby photos taken is when babies are really young and still floppy and wrinkly. I take the pictures in your own home so both mum and newborn baby are as relaxed a possible. Makes the whole thing stress-free. Here's a few of my favourites of the little one....

My favourite one of Ava with Mum!

Congratulations on your beautiful little girl!
I'm based in Watford and happy to come to your home in and around Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, St Albans, Kings Langley and surrounding areas.

SWPP - Gold Award for Travel

This month in the SWPP competition I received my first Gold Award in the Travel category. Those of you that know me will be aware that travel is one of my passions so I was really pleased to get an image scoring so high is this category. The picture was taken in Marrakech where I went with a group of great friends for a fairly recent "big birthday". Here is the image:

In between checking out the local culture and sipping wine on roof top terraces, I took lots of others but here are a few that I particularly like. People in Morocco generally were not keen to be photographed , which I completely respect, so most of these were taken with the camera slung over my shoulder trying to sneakily "shoot from the hip"... a pretty hit or miss technique really but I got a few hits.
